disco legend larry levan unearthed countless gems in his time, but this classic by the joubert singers is a reminder of just how funky gospel music can be. re-edited and re-worked by plenty of others since levan, his version is still the best – especially when you remember that in 1985 he was working with tape. that’s reel-to-reel tape and scissors, kids.
